I've noticed in life, this is one of the hardest things to do, for some...Give in!
There are certain things I WILL NOT give in on...
What the Bible says...
The plan of Salvation...
My own/families convictions..
But there are some things in life we should let slide...
Just let it go, they aren't worth arguing over.
Arguing over the unimportant matters brings friction and discontent into our lives and home, it is a waste of time and drains us spiritually.
For example, your spouse says one thing and you know without a doubt his/her memory has failed once more.
Do you rebuttal? Or are you the type to say...o.k. dear?
If you know that this conversation isn't going to "save the world," try your hardest not to rebuttal. If it's really not important...just let it go. Sometimes that is hard for us to do.
I have heard of and have had silly arguments myself, that amounted to nothing. It really didn't matter who was right and who was wrong...unless your taking score!!
All it did was make me angry because that person wasn't "understanding me" or remembering.
For example...
what color was the car that passed us on the highway..
what someone said two days ago...
who lost the keys, who had them last...ect. Who cares!!!
God will bless you and you will grow the more you can control these bad habits. You will find yourself praying less for what you did or said... and praying more for important things.
Proverbs 14:29 reads...
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding. But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
James 1:19 reads...
Wherefore, beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
Have a Great Day,
