Lord, Help Me To Be A Servant.

Lord, I want to be a servant for you...

-Prior to his crucifixion, he tried to warn his disciples so many times of his death or that he would be leaving.

-The disciples entering the Last Supper arguing and full of resentment for each other. Each jockeying for position on who would be the closest to their Master in the Glory of their future.

-All, unwanting to be as a servant/slave for each other and wash their dusty feet.

I look at all the examples he has given us....do we really take heed?

Jesus looked at his disciples and thought, "How unprepared they are to partake of the bread and wine.

There they are at the table with their feet unwashed, but their hearts need cleansing far more than their feet."

Without a word, Jesus laid aside His garments and girded Himself with a towel.
He then poured water and knelt at the feet of one of the strongest disciples...(the emblem of a slave).

Could you imagine... The Creator of the universe was on His knees to wash the feet of one of His creatures!

No glory in what He was doing. Being a servant, serving others...who wants to do the dirty work?

I want to serve my church & community.
It is so easy to live everyday as it should be...the normal status.
It is so easy to go to work and put on a nice face and say a great hello and think that, yes, I'm being a witness.
They can see Christ in me, by me,  just being me, not ever really telling them the Glory of God and what God can do for them!

If I don't ever open my mouth and speak of His greatness... am I really witnessing?

Help us all to be Bold, Humble Servants for you Lord.
