I often wondered why people would say "This is so sinful"...while eating a second helping of their favorite dessert.
I always thought it was because they felt they where cheating on their body, and would gain some unwanted weight while splurging.
Last night I was thinking of how the devil decorates sin to look like your favorite dessert. So often sin Is disguised, and the devil is just waiting for us to taste it!
For me it is hard to stop at one bite of a "DouBle fudgE cHocolate cAke with choColate chiPs, pecAns and chocoLate frosTing"...sometimes caRamel drizZled on top...and of course a cold glass of milk, yummy!!
But after eating it all, I'm left feeling bloated, tired and guilty from the "weight I will gain".
Sin will leave you with the same feelings and more!
One bite is all it takes, and your hooked finding it hard to let go... until it consumes you! Leaving you with the extra weight, feeling tired, unable to function, unable to fight back... and before you know it, Sin has complete control of you.
Of course this is not just about consumption of food. It's what you see, listen too, say, and take part of...be careful little eyes what you see, little ears what you hear, little mouth what you say, little feet where you go...
The devil is the Master of Disguise!! We have to be aware of his tactics.
Staying close to God, being filled with the Holy Ghost, baptized in His name and reading His Word daily helps us see and deal with the devils sly tricks.
Watch what you "consume" or it may "consume" you!!
