Do You Have 20/20 Vision?

Vision...it's a Wonderful thing to have Eye Sight!

To be able to see the world around you...the beautiful colors schemes God has created for each season.

To see your loved ones and expressions of love or laughter on their faces, a new born baby's feet and hands, your favorite dessert stacked high, the view of the earth from an airplane, the gorgeous moonlight and shimmering stars, your child or loved one receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost for the first time...how amazing!

The eye works by allowing light to enter it and is projected onto a light sensitive panel of cells known as the retina. There the light is detected and converted into electrical signals.
These are transmitted to the brain via the optic nerve, where the focusing lens, named the iris regulates the intensity of light to enter the eye. When focused, vision is achieved by telescoping the lens...similar to how a  camera  focuses.

Over 85% percent of infants born in the U.S. have 20/20 vision...the perfect eyesight.
From birth to adulthood there are many changes to our eyesight. More than 50% of those same infants  born with perfect vision have some type of imparity by the time they reach an adult age.

To name a few, some of these may sound familiar...
*Astigmatism
*Sty
*Cataracts
*Dry eyes
*Farsightedness
*Nearsightedness
*Glaucoma
*Retinal detachment
*Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
*Macular degeneration...I could go on.

These diseases bring pain and discomfort to the eye. They Hinder the eye from being productive and from focusing on an object correctly.

Just as our eyes reflect light, we need to reflect the light of God's love to the world. We need God to work in us. We need to see what God can do for us.
We also need to see God's goodness, He is good ALL the time, day or night, rain or shine...even when we wake up on the wrong side of the bed...He is the same.
We need to adapt our lives to do His will. Just as our eyes change with the amount of light that is available, we need to adapt to His will.

We also need to be careful and not let things impair our eye sight...such as the things of this world. They will cloud our vision and bring pain and discomfort.
If we keep our eyes on the Lord, then our eyes will stay focused on Heaven and reflect the love of Him.
